The Town of Lac du Bonnet is transitioning to a new standardized curbside garbage and recycling program beginning April 1, 2026. All properties will receive one 360-litre garbage cart and one 360-litre recycling cart, collected on a bi-weekly basis on alternating weeks. Carts will be delivered in the weeks leading up to implementation. A 360-litre cart can hold approximately 7–8 standard kitchen-size garbage bags.
As part of this transition, the Environmental Options Recycling Depot will close to the public effective February 28, 2026. Curbside recycling will continue, and residents are asked to break materials down and place them at the curb for collection.
The Town’s contracted service provider, Bristal Hauling Limited, will also offer optional paid services, including additional capacity, a mobile app with collection schedules and service updates, and bi-annual bulky waste collection days. The Town will continue to operate the Town Chip Site and provide yard waste collection.
